The Center for Cartoon Studies, Main and Gates Streets
The Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) offers a two-year course of study that centers on the creation and dissemination of comics, graphic novels and other manifestations of the visual narrative. Experienced and internationally recognized cartoonists, writers, and designers teach classes. The school is located in downtown White River Junction, Vermont, in the historic Colodny Surprise Department Store.

The Tip Top Cafe provides a day-time alternative and also serves dinner.

New England Transportation Institute and Museum (NETIM) has its first exhibit space open in the White River Junction Amtrak Station. Over 1,500 square feet of Connecticut River Valley scenes, history and issues all based on transportation.
